Letter From First Lady Melanie Blunt

Greetings,

Women have always played an important role in shaping the great state of Missouri, but in the 21st century, we will have more opportunities than ever before to make a difference in our families, communities and today’s business world. It may not always be easy balancing a family, career, education and training opportunities and many other personal obligations but, Missouri women are smart, strong, and resilient.

I am quite passionate about my two newest roles as Missouri’s First Lady and a new mother. In carrying out these two important responsibilities, I have gained a better understanding and appreciation of the need for a great network of support. In a similar manner, the Missouri Women’s Council is here to provide a critical support system to those of you working hard to make a better life for yourself and your families. In fact, the Council has been a vital advocate on issues that affect the economic and employment status of Missouri women for over two decades.

Now, through their newly updated web site, the Council gives you easier access to a wide variety of resources that will help you enhance your skills and education, find a great job or even start your own business. I encourage you to take a few minutes and become familiar with the Missouri Women’s Council’s new Web page. With a fresh new look and easier navigation, this site provides you with simple access to the information and referral resources that will connect you to a brighter future.
