We would like to thank all of the nominees for the efforts and contributions that they made to their communities which resulted in their nomination for the 2008 First Lady Awards. We had an overwhelming response of more than 300 nominations in the categories of Volunteerism, Health and Wellness, Business and Innovation, Culture and Humanities, and Education. Although five recipients were chosen from each category to receive a First Lady Award, all of the nominees were honored and recognized for the phenomenal impact that they have made on the world around them. The level of contribution and sacrifice in time and effort that so many women in Missouri have made truly illustrates how special they all are and how fortunate we are because of it.
