Schnucks leaders today announced plans to once again, “paint the stores pink,” this time, in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
“Our goal is to reinforce health and wellness by shining a spotlight on breast cancer awareness, encouraging early detection and treatment. Throughout October, our customers will soon notice pink packaging on popular, name brand products and Schnucks brand products.” Schnucks Event Marketing Manager Jason Schnuck,
The Missouri Women’s Council would like to thank Schnucks for supporting Breast Cancer Awareness by prominently displaying the Missouri Women’s Council booth in their Jefferson City location which will provide information about the Pink Plate campaign. Also on hand will be fishbowls available for donation. Funds raised will provide breast cancer services to underinsured Missouri Women. As a side note, for those that are interested, the floral department will be giving away PINK roses (while supplies last) to those that ask.
Additional efforts to raise awareness include their “Paint the Stores Pink” nation-wide program. During the month of October, Schnucks has rounded up all vendors, including some of their products as well, with similar programs and asked them to repackage their products in PINK for the duration of the program. Participating vendors include General Mills, Campbell’s, Frito-Lay, Mars, Nestle, Prairie Farms, Kraft, Ocean Spray, Hershey and Coca-Cola.
In addition, through its partnership with Schnucks, U. S. Bank will be accepting tax-deductible donations to the Women's Council at its in-store branches and U.S. Bank locations in the St. Louis metro area. Checks can be made payable to "Friends of Missouri Women's Council."
Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc. operates 102 stores (including five Logli stores) and 99 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi.

U. S. Bank's "Pink Link" outreach program is the newest link in the chain of business partners joining in to support healthcare initiatives of the Missouri Women's Council.
